Every semester my AP Bio students do a microbiology #STEAM project i created called Petri Dish Embroidery. Students research bacterial species and do an embroidery about it. Its always a huge hit, kids always comment about how surprisingly chill and relaxing it is

I was really into making balloon animals in middle school. Not, like, giant work-of-art sculptures, but simple animals and flowers using one or two colors. I even invented a couple of my own, mostly birds. I just did it for fun and for my little sister's birthday parties a couple times.
What skill did you master that you will never, ever use again?
I can take a fleece every step of the way by hand to yarn. And dye the yarn using various flora of Ireland. (Are lichens flora?)

#Wip Wednesday, fade is happening!
These two yarns are actually slightly different weights, the dark is worsted while the colorful is DK. this has definitely led to differences in stitch density and “squish factor.” But i love the colors too much to care 😂

Hey #knitsky, what do we call it when a sweater pattern is like suuuper loose-knit like this? I kinda want to try a project like this to get an idea of sweater construction and have something loose to wear over tank tops, but i want to shop around for pattern ideas.

My first vacation yarn-haul 🤩😂 from last weekend in Seattle.
(Sidenote, if you told mid-20s me that my idea of an ideal vacation would be to walk around cute neighborhoods in the PNW in the fall with a cup of coffee and shop exclusively for yarn and stickers....I don't know what Id say 😂🤣)

Okay so this is my lacy "shawl," and...well....
So i DO like it. This is supposed to be a very free-form, organic style, and i specifically chose colors to make it look like a botanical vascular cross-section under a microscope.

Okay wow, so blocking yall! I finished this basic triangle scarf last winter and my First Real Project, but it was more like a kerchief than a scarf. Since i had to block the lacy shawl I just finished, i figured id try blocking this too, and wow, I love this way better
