Politics and cat pictures. Denver suburbs. She/her.
Last year, Big Niece's Christmas list was half toys.

This year, it's DnD, Converse, and Taylor Swift. What a difference going to 7th grade makes! (Also, seems like she's turning into a pretty cool teen.)

Blowing snow on the prairies, initially hard to see but once you do it's everywhere across the image on the left. Zooming out, you see it's mainly on the flattest land; much less sign of it on patches of hummocky stagnant ice terrain, though still very low-relief. Late November, western Minnesota.

There’s a reel going around about how we need to be friends with more ppl in order to change the world, and I strongly disagree. Friendship requires trust, shared values, and vulnerability.

What we actually need is the ability to be in community with ppl we don’t like

Oh goodness yes, this is what living with an anxiety disorder is like, because my 3-year-old girl yells a lot louder than other people's.

It's been very helpful to me to learn to love her, recognize that she means well and isn't always wrong, and sometimes give her small harmless things.

My kittens being right where I wanna be. I'm often told Claes looks mildly disapproving all the time, but I think she usually looks like she's on the work zoom with the ceo while nobody can see she's wearing spongebob jammie bottoms or something. Acorn otoh looks innocent. Don't let her fool you.

Fascinating, appalling thread. Time to get moles into every chamber of commerce…
insane local news just dropped. i've lived in a part of KC for ~decade and it's been an inside joke with friends and service workers that the local biz/party district is ran by a cartel of biz owners who bully out new ventures and replace them with generic dive bars for white suburbanites.

Well UH
