If this happens a couple of more times, it'll presumably have to stop, so we should all ignore this even harder.

Last night, one of my friends asked if it would be unseemly of him to bring a pie to a social gathering if another friend had already announced she would be baking a cake, and I have never heard a proposed social restriction get shot down so quickly or energetically.

Okay, yes, this is a vastly more interesting textile and much better cut.

I like the explanation of what it is, but if he wanted to go modern, almost anything Bad Bunny has worn in the past few years would be a better fit to this competition.

IT DOES NOT MATTER IF YOUR MEDICAL EMERGENCY IS DUE TO DRUG ADDICTION. IT'S A MEDICAL EMERGENCY YOU FUCKING GHOULS.

This is part and parcel of what's keeping us from having universal health care: they really believe that some ppl deserve medical care and some don't.

A lawsuit alleges a Black postal worker died after officers ignored clear signs he was suffering from a massive stroke, believing his medical emergency was drugs

The suit says guards left him helpless on a jail cell floor in his own urine for hours

My brothers, wake up. The modern male diet is meant to domesticate you like a pet. We used to live off the hearts of the animals we hunted. Our ancestors sailed across oceans with nothing but rum and the very worst thing that happened to them was their teeth fell out and they died.

"Trans issues aren't this shameful thing that Democratic consultants suggest we hide from, it's the same fight undocumented immigrants are fighting, or those who can't access health care are fighting...Political issues aren't siloes, they're all connected, and Mamdani recognizes that." ✊

I wrote a little about some of the little details you might have missed in this video and why it hit me so hard as a trans person this morning:

The bear is a friendly guide who serves as a signpost, a marker to describe where you're standing to the friends you're meeting, or a reminder of where you parked your car.

It's fun to be in a place where people actually have a relationship with pieces of public art. Though I think people interact with the bear differently. Blucifer is like a great and terrible protector of the airport, who keeps its evils confined but might kick the shit out of you if you get close.

I really like the idea of fighting back with all our communities' weirdness, since part of what these people are trying to do is impose white exurban AI sameness on everyone.

I keep seeing AI-generated videos of kittens and it's like ... you stupid motherfucker why would you fake a kitten, what is the point of you, there is no light in your eyes

Meerkat pups Bart, Quinn, and Twitch (here with dad Kijani) are getting ready for move-in day.

The renovated Small Animal Kingdom reopens on Thursday, October 23, where you’ll be able to see the meerkats in their brand-new habitat, along with other Zoo Boise favorites and even some new animals.

Surely there are at least a few blue bear costumes in the world too!

This, and nested.

And you know, Denver Metro? There are a number of inflatable blue unicorns and a LOT of blue Velociraptor* costumes. We could do a Demon Horse brigade with costumes and a couple red LED throwies each.

*the Velociraptors are rearing, like Blucifer.

Truth in this. But can you see it? Each city in it's nature, in it's colors? Bring your thing, amplify, be the technicolor and ridicule these people into oblivion. Deny them their new civil war. Demand our peace.

it really has been amazing how much one person in a frog suit destroyed their fantasy visuals over the past week. this wouldn't work everywhere but Portland, you are doing amazing sweetie

Pretty sure that when you have giant frogs everywhere, God is very disappointed in how you are treating immigrants.

That all makes sense.

I have to say, all of this makes me even madder about the AI cat haiku commercial. If people have a creative impulse and then immediately shut it down, I suspect they'll lose some of their ability to understand the professional creative process.

Somewhere out there, a historian is trying to figure out how to explain the history of frogs and politics.

Blessed are the frogs, for they keep making authoritarians look incredibly stupid

Me: *reads bunch of South American horror*

Website: "SAY, HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT THIS WRITER CALLED STEPHEN KING?"

If it actually wanted to intelligently encourage me to branch out, it'd go find me some translated horror from a different region of the world.

Why do recommendation services do this? It's one thing to recommend indie stuff to someone reading mostly mainstream works. But if it's the other way around, they're probably somewhat familiar with the mainstream stuff and avoiding it on purpose.

Nicholas Sparks wrote the book that The Notebook and a bunch of other sappy romantic movies were based on.

I can enjoy a normie ass hetero romance, and I despise Nicholas Sparks books. You would double extra hate them. Wow.

As a childless person, that strikes me as just. Your taxes are different than mine because your household is different.

If a woman who was otherwise similar to me but who had 20-something children who had moved out paid lower taxes, I'd object.
sosomanysarahs.bsky.social
Yeah, so it's complicated, but the question we're currently using isn't, "Have you reproduced?" It's, "Are you financially responsible for someone else's care?"

Oh, I didn't mean to cause stress! My own brain hamster just started to spin on its wheel a bit theologically!
