Oh my gosh. I've just tried out the AI voices at Elevenlabs and I am flabbergasted at how good they actually are at recognising and reading Old (!) English bits in a modern English text.

Has anyone used them for their audiobooks yet, or do you prefer human narrators?

I went axe throwing in York this year and I can imagine how deadly such an axe was when swung by a big, powerful warrior. You don't need to be strong to hit a target, but if you are and know how to handle that axe, your enemy had better run.

Ui, das sieht aber leergefegt aus. Irgendwie hatte ich mir das voller vorgestellt und dachte, da ist, sowohl was Schreibende wie Lesende angeht, mehr Andrang. Sind das unterschiedliche Hallen, so wie auf der FBM/LBM, wo es sich nur bestimmten Hallen drängt?

Danke, die kann ich gebrauchen. Manche Stellen sind wirklich vertrackt. Am meisten ärgert es mich, wenn man Wörter oder Sätze einfügen muss, nur damit der blöde Buchsatz passt. Eigentlich hat man die Sätze ja absichtlich so und nicht anders formuliert.
Das Schlimmste: Keinen Leser wird's jucken.

Ideal: keine (!) Worttrennungen oder mindestens 3 Buchstaben (aber trenn mal englische Wörter!), am Zeilenende nie mehr als 1 Trennstrich bzw. dasselbe Wort untereinander / nach Satzende nur Wörter mit mind. 3 Buchstaben. Oft gibt es außerdem zerstückelte Zeilen, weil die Wörter alle so kurz sind.

Am 12. Oktober die Buch&Bild in Mitterfels und dann am 8. November die AugsBUCH in Augsburg. Leider nur jeweils ein Tag, aber besser als nichts und spart die Übernachtung.

Ich war noch nie auf der FBM, aber ich weiß nicht, ob ich mir das antun soll. Ist wohl absolut erschlagend.
