I admit this ended up on the back burner for a while but since I've been too sick to properly tackle video recording stuff I've started poking at this again to give an example of how 30k could be used for a historical 40k game even if it's just something people homebrew.

So I have a plan for my Lord Solar since he needs a bigger based than Dreir but I'm using a Dreir model as his base: the Leman Russ turret base from the old Hero Bases set cut flush and mounted into the 80mm base.
The hard part will be getting the claws off Dreir's base since they aren't connected.
