Young people in NYC absolutely showed out and there should be 1000 articles and profiles about this. Because we have had to put up with 1000 MAGA diner stories for years now.

I need more people to understand the movement that could be brewing here in Georgia if this young man only lost by 87 votes in COBB COUNTY.
87 votes was the margin of victory in Marietta, GA.

So proud of my city. 👊❤️

(Albany Park is a diverse neighborhood on the northwest side of Chicago.)

* Continuing to fight the "Chicago is a hellhole" narrative: I saw this because I biked a few miles to a lovely chocolate cafe on a gorgeous fall day where the leaves were starting to turn golden.

I think that this is an important image and it says so much about this country.
A photo of white people protesting the 100th birthday celebration of W.E.B. Du Bois held at Carnegie Hall, where Martin Luther King, Jr. gave a speech honoring Du Bois and defended his communism. Printed in the U.S. Anti-fascism Reader.

I'm sorry that this wasn't their first instinct AND I'm sorry that they didn't immediately throw the "agreements" in the fascists' faces but better late than never, I guess.

I have no more capacity to organize but one very useful thing that people could do in their individual states is to track all of the "DHS Gestapo recruitment fairs" over the next few years and then organize direct actions at each fair. Show up with posters telling folks not to sign up etc...

I keep seeing "Gavin is so cute how he's standing up to 🍊" videos so I made one to remind y'all that we are NOT doing that. He's questioned trans athletes and is all for criminalizing homelessness. Just no.

Good service design is not about shiny websites — it’s about giving people options, like filing retirement and disability claims over the phone. If DOGE had succeeded, they would have prevented Americans from accessing the benefits they deserve.

Social Security scraps far-reaching cuts to phone services after Post report
The agency will move ahead with a much narrower revision eliminating direct deposit changes by phone amid DOGE fraud concerns.

Our first week post-"deletion" was a whirlwind: we're still catching up on the headlines. Thank you to the journalists working to shed light on our story—and the stories of many thousands of federal workers like us. 🗞️

Reminder to folks: if you see someone trolling in my comments, the best thing to do is "don't engage, just block." Jerks thrive on your outrage, and I will hide your responses after I block them. Save us both the effort! Ignore them! Block them! Then you'll never see 'em again, and they get nothing.

Government officials: Criminalizing homelessness is not a solution
“Camping bans” don’t reduce homelessness. They push people deeper into crisis.
