I think a lot of current conservative christian reactions to things is predicated entirely on a kind of revenge for the fact that following all the rules did not net them a world that would bow to their feet and declare them the cornerstone of morality & right living

anyway, this didn’t happen. following purity culture rules did not net christians any more possibility of having conflict-free fulfilling marriages/sex lives/children. “the world” is not suffering the way they were supposed to & does not look to conservative xianity for moral guidance

so sure you can’t have sex before marriage, but once you *get* married? Oh then you will have the BEST sex life. You’ll read your xian marriage books & your xian parenting books & your children will be OBEDIENT & your spouse will be LOVING & “the world” will salivate at the sight of what you have
