We are now in a very unfortunate world where if the BBC, which already has low levels of trust in the trans community, makes a (let's be charitable) mistake in its reporting it would rather dig in and misinform than correct the mistake. We will report the matter to Ofcom and also take legal advice.

The right wing claims the corporation is ‘pro-trans’, but the people at the sharp end of its coverage disagree. The BBC must stop its attack on trans people.

But what Kuenssberg (falsely) asserted was: "the Supreme Court said in a landmark ruling in April that it was biological sex not a person's chosen gender that should determine... who should be able to access single-sex spaces." And (as Lord Hodge and the summary make clear) it did not decide that.

The BBC still purports to strive for objectivity and balance. It might think to at least address the fact that the interpretation of the law it presents has been disagreed with by the Govt's own lawyers, two employment tribunals, and is currently being challenged before the High Court.
