The thing is that on my in game screenshot the detailing and the bevel around the edge looks bronze if you colour the mask black in-game.
And I discovered I didn't have bronze...
This is the end result aimed for.
I'm going to get a few more proper up close angles for the final paint...

Going ok so far though I forgot for a moment that the teardrops are black as well. And I also realized I didn't have the correct colour paint for the detailing. So on hold a bit till I get that.
I say not bad for a first real print and airbrushing...
I mean, it takes longer than a month to get good.

THEN I can mask off the painted parts afterwards without having to care about keeping the small parts uncovered and make the overspray black again.
And if the gaps are too small I have one of those prefilled painter markers I've tested already with some good success.
This has to dry now, though.
A black chocobo racing mask print in a paint booth with the frond on top painted silver and the trim and details painted white to receive a different colour after because the black primer will just devour a leather brown hue. The detailing has a lot of overspray for now.

Two printed out chocobo racing mask bases from FFXIV. They are grey with body filler and sanded down flush so there is no more seam visible for having been glued together.

Because do note that if you get the ACTUAL font pack, not only does the person who made it benefit from it, it comes with the entire properly vectored/rasterized letters in case you need to resize it on the fly.
Like when you need to fit the entire design you made on your arm.
