anyway the reason the adult has to be the one that draws the boundary is that the kid can’t do it if they don’t believe they’re still a kid. at 16 we are SO desperate to be treated like an adult and we want to believe that’s what we are. we will crash through any boundary that’s not steel-reinforced

an almost unthinkable amount of time and effort has been spent speculating about how AVs might be adopted, and how they might shape behavior and society, a lot of it drifting into the realm of outright absurdity... and yet I've never heard of anyone even hinting at this very specific use case
