Erin Biba was on Bluesky earlier than many people, encouraging newbies on the use and enjoying it in comparison to Twitter/X. She has been pragmatic in what she says on many issues including on Link's ban. What she was suspended for was not controversial.

Sukkot begins tomorrow! For 7 days we honor the harvest & the ties that the Jewish people have to nature & our indigenous land. More crafty folks build a small hut open to the sky & decorate it with fruits & leaves. Eating dinner with the stars is magic.

*Both* Jewish and Muslim communities are being demonised. This is not a competition, it is a fact. Making it a competition deepens the problem that needs to be addressed as one.

For frig's sake, it has only been a few days since Jewish people died at a synagogue attack which may have been due to hate and anger whipped up about Jewish people on here and people are already doing "but if it were the Jews" in response to the Mosque attack.

Last night, there was a suspected arson attack at Peacehaven Mosque. On Thursday, the attack at Heaton Park Synagogue. There is no hierarchy to pursue. Both tell us that the demonisation of minoritised communities must be dealt with, jointly together with the same vigour.

One good thing that has resulted from this week, including the uptick of borderline and actual antisemitic comments, is that I have found more Jewish people to connect with Bluesky.

It is imperative to look for the good within the horrendous, and hope within the hate.

I do not even have challah and pickles to eat as I watch non-Jews, non-Israelis and non-Palestinians argue it out.

This is only my view. Other Jewish people may feel differently. What it will tell you is that this is complex and the global Jewish community, both Israeli Jews and the Jewish diaspora, is not homogeneous. It is time we are no longer treated as if we are.

Maybe, the conflation is the problem. Maybe, conflation was part of why Thursday happened. Definitely, anyone using the protest to deepen hate against Jews should be loudly called out *at* the protests. Now, more than ever, our values and rights need to hold together.

Every Shabbat and Jewish festival, we pray for a just and equal world without oppression or suffering. Our Jewish communal grief should not mean a choice between supporting us *or* Palestinians because we should not be conflated with the actions of a nation state.
