Meanwhile, we still don't need American alcohol.
BC and Ontario wines are better.
We distill all manner of excellent whiskies across the country.
We show our defiance with our wallets and our liquor cabinets.

They still don't get it.
They think they can come up to Canada and sweet talk us into buying their shit.
Ain't gonna happen.
Donald Trump said that there was nothing Americans needed from Canada.
We can start with you not needing money from our booze purchases.

Trump's using the language of an abusive spouse.
No, you fascistic sack of moldy oranges, Canada will never love America. You've shat the bed on that one.
Never mind love, we won't trust the US again - and those of us who know history didn't trust it much to begin with.

Stayed at the Fort Garry once, years ago. No ghosts, but I did attend a wedding from hell.

The Fort Garry Hotel in Winnipeg is considered to be one of the most haunted place in Canada.
From the ghostly guests who remain there, to the haunted Room 202, it is a place with plenty of paranormal happenings.
This is the haunted story!

A photo of a grand, multi-story hotel with a light-colored stone facade and a distinctive green steeple roof, surrounded by modern high-rise buildings in an urban setting. The hotel features arched windows and a prominent entrance with a canopy, with trees and vehicles visible on the street below, and a Canadian flag atop the building.

Just a reminder that Alberta now has the lowest basic minimum wage in the nation.

I know no one wants to hear it, but it’s also the only province with no provincial tax generating revenue for the province.

Keep those in mind when you hear Smith complain about no money.

I just had the most delightfully absurd experience of playing rock-paper-scissors for a parking spot at Costco.
Even better: I won.

The cancellation of the Arrow program was a national tragedy. One of the best fighters in the world tossed on the scrapheap before it even went into service.
cdnhistoryehx.bsky.social
On Oct. 4, 1957, the Avro Arrow was unveiled with the intention of it being the RCAF's primary interceptor in the 1960s.
Less than two years later, the program was abruptly cancelled and 14,528 Avro employees were put out of work.
This is the story of the Arrow.

A couple of shots I took of Tyra in the looooooooooooooooooong prairie sunset.
bloginhood.bsky.social
Tyra *is* monumentally cheesy but also unabashedly wonderful. Drumheller wouldn't be the same without her.
I didn't climb up inside her during either of my visits to see the nearby Royal Tyrell Museum, but standing at her feet definitely added to the fun.

This new shirt from @brittlestar.com arrived the other day and it rocks!
(Terrible pun absolutely intended.)
A dark blue t-shirt with a large, red maple leaf and the words "Canada - ICE is for curling".
