"Schools and districts should only partner with technology providers that prioritize safety, privacy and inclusivity in their products."

Yes. Good. That means NONE OF THEM.

None of the companies you have partnered with meet this challenge. By your own guidelines, you must sever your ties.

I remember when a Canadian court ruled that Air Canada's chatbot was a representative of the company (so the company had to honor commitments it had made) and they yanked it immediately.
As a starting point I think the CEO of every company offering chatbots should be *personally* liable for all the text their chatbots produce. as though it was a direct conversation with them
How is this legal? And if it is legal, what exactly do we take a torch to it legislatively?

The only thinking the governments of Aust have done regarding our children's future on this planet is how they can restrict the kids' access to information about what's happening and how they can organise to take action.

This is why @emilymbender.bsky.social @alexhanna.bsky.social say to name the specific thing rather than calling it "AI".

Right now, ChatGPT is bucketed under the same term as a model train to translate one specific language into another and which is carefully trained through curated data.

Yes! Many years back I screamed at a neighbour who was threatening his kid with hitting him that it’s never okay to hit anyone ever and my ex said I should mind my own business. Nah, all children are my business.

People like to worry about what’s their business versus someone else’s businesses and blah blah blah, but at the end of the day, not every child has a parent who can parent. They need somebody to be on their side, someone with agency. I will always be that. I am unshakeable in that commitment.

The really messed up thing is that NOT hitting people requires no skills. We walk, work, and live among annoying, frustrating, and cruel adults every day. People who have had thirty or sixty years to do and be better. But we’re cool with hitting someone who’s had three? Five? Ten years of existence?
