Tech completely destroyed journalism and replaced it with grifting influencers. There’s no societal agreement in basic facts anymore because everything is so fractured. Zuck, Musk, Google, etc are largely responsible for our democracy being on life support and I hope people understand that.
Yeah well the problem is they’re going to be sued into oblivion without the institutional support of lawyers from legacy media and I hope people understand that.

Musk, Trump, etc. can file nuisance lawsuits as a form of legal warfare and bankrupt journalists for having the guts to tell the truth.
I paid to subscribe to several more independent publications today. We have to fund reporters who are willing and able to take a stand, put money behind good journalism, and ensure that there will be uncompromising reporting on culture, politics, and technology

Our job, friends, is to watch out for each other in the months and years to come. For the rest of our fucking lives. This kind of bigotry will be everywhere, directed against all kinds of people. And every time you hear it, it's now your job to say "Uh, that's fucked up, man." That's on us, now.

I’m in the middle of reading The Message. Things have always been fucked, and there are centuries of power structures keeping it that way. I can mourn this shit but my existence is built on top of it. The meaning is fighting against it.

I’m trying to order the “Lord of the Rings Appendices” for Prime Big Deal Days, but nothing comes up. Shame on Amazon for depriving us from this classic tale of the corrupting influence of power!
