Liberal rabble-rouser from New York, transplanted to North Carolina and generally sick of the GOP's crap.
Would just like to point out that Congress has not repealed the ban and that Oracle and Akamai are still brazenly violating US law.
This isn't about Donald Trump, it's about the stupidity of Congress. And TikTok is not getting "turned back on" next week. It's shutting down in the US and that is not going to change until the law is repealed.
This is a ploy so they can shut it down on Sunday, blame it on Biden, then turn it back on in 1-2 days so Trump can play the hero and claim credit. It’s sad to see that the Chinese Communist Party is working with Trump so closely to deceive app users and the American people.

I'm sure the chart is great but we don't need one. Elon Musk can't balance the federal budget because he's not *in* the government. He's a civilian. No power whatsoever. You don't need to go any further than that, you really don't.

Repeat after me: Congress writes the budget.
"The notion that the federal government is hopelessly bloated due to waste that every reasonable person wants to eliminate is an appealing myth, but it’s a myth."

Why Elon Musk can never balance the budget, in one chart
Elon Musk wants to slash trillions in “waste.” Good luck, buddy!

LOL no, DOGE (not DODGE) is not a government agency. This is high school-level civics: new government agencies (think Department of Homeland Security) can only be created by an act of Congress. DOGE is nothing but an imaginary civilian advisory panel. Nothing more. It's powerless and always will be.

Screecan-quoting this because some people get REALLY mad mad when you point this out: this isn't a terrorist attack *yet*. There's no evidence of it being one. A requisite component of a terrorist attack is the public definitively knowing *why*. That's the entire point of terrorism.

A federal law setting term and age limits for Congress would be unconstitutional. A law "criminalizing lobbying" would be a laughable violation of the First Amendment.

MAGA people don't know the first thing about how this country works.
Mike Johnson may have his first official challenger in the Speaker’s race.

Suing him is exactly what we should do. Democrats need a liberal version of Ken Paxton, an attorney general who will sue the Trump administration over every single thing it does in a friendly jurisdiction with a liberal judge and a liberal appellate court. Get an injunction and stall for four years.

That was the point of all their BS about the weaponization of government. Blame your enemies for your plan, so when you carry it out it gets ignored as "I know you are but what am I".

This was the plan all along: weaponize government against liberals.
Reading the pardon coverage...I don't think the significance of the Gaetz/Patel/Bondi nominations has sunk in. People still aren't getting what a politicized DOJ and FBI, with the power to arrest/bug/harass anyone for any reason, would be able to do.

Elon Musk plans to spend election night with Donald Trump, giving the former president direct access to the person controlling X, a key information platform, on what could be a chaotic evening.
Musk to Spend Election Night With Trump at Mar-a-Lago
Elon Musk has spent $119 million on a super PAC supporting Donald Trump and held events on his behalf. But his ownership of X is especially valuable.

I'm not AT ALL interested in how Hillary Clinton did in 2016. Not in PA, not in New Hampshire, not anyplace. She got sandbagged at the last minute by the FBI and she was already fairly toxic just being a Clinton. There's NO predictive value looking at her performance ANYWHERE.

Am sitting here thinking tonight how if Republicans had run DeSantis or dang near anybody else, Biden doesn't get pushed out and the GOP candidate probably wins tomorrow without too much trouble, with much lower turnout all around.

I find last minute endorsements very revealing. First, this is Sheldon Adelson's widow, and based on this endorsement she's as horrible a person as her husband was.

But why wait until 3 days before the election when endorsements no longer matter? Coward?

DR. MIRIAM ADELSON: The right man for the job
There is simply no alternative to the courage, protectiveness and clear-sightedness that Trump evinces with such peerless energy.

In an alternate universe where James Comey doesn't interfere in the election with a few days left to vote..

In an alternate universe where Democrats don't run a toxic candidate that maximizes GOP turnout..

There were larger real life things at play than a small social media site.

Republican Elon Musk's Republican mom is openly advocating vote fraud on Twitter. I don't expect it to stay up, but she is currently Community Noted for it (and correctly so.)

Like the dude who spent 300 laps getting the lead but gets passed with two to go.
Trump tells on himself in his first reaction to Joe Biden dropping out. He's no longer in control and wants to speak to the manager.

The American people didn't want a Biden-Trump race, but only one candidate had the honor and humility to listen.

I don't believe in bullshitting, so no, Kamala Harris does not have more experience than Donald Trump. Trump was President for four years, that beats four years as VP. Of all the arguments against him and for her, that's one of the worst. There are better arguments to make!

I like Jeff Jarvis a lot but right now he's a shining example of why you should never get emotionally invested in politicians. It's way too easy to fall into the traps of tribalism and cultism. Biden got us here and nobody else. This is not sports and Joe Biden was not your team.

What's the source of this stupidity? Republicans believe free speech means the ability to speak without being criticized, which is not at all a protection that the First Amendment provides nor is it within the spirit of the law. Free to speak, not free to not be criticized.

Twitter's paid userbase under Elon Musk is so incredibly toxic that they want to hide their likes? Musk has been burned by this more than anybody I can think of and I think that's probably at the heart of it, rather than his racist, moronic fanbase.

I'd like to be able to say that indys approving of Trump's convictions 57-30 is a death sentence, and if every one of those people refuses to vote for him then it will be. But you can't infer that. WHY DIDN'T THEY ASK IF THIS HAS CHANGED HOW THEY WILL VOTE? Actual polling malfeasance right there.
