A forbidden romance. I didn't think the writers would take it as far as they did but I enjoyed all the angst!

Nan Xuyue, #TheBlossomingLove

Such an interesting and well-acted character, Wang Duo was great in this role. I loved this drama, but I could've watched a whole separate one focused more on him. His relationship with Mu Xuanling was just as compelling as the main couple.

Chai Jing, #TheGlory

A resourceful fighter and protector. The love she had for Hanyan was beautiful. They're one of my favorite (non-canon) romances of the year. Their first meeting is one of my favorite scenes in the entire drama.

Lin Qile (Yingtao), #OurGeneration

I love that she pursued love and friendship with such bravery. That she was unwavering in her loyalty to those she cared about but she learned over time to value herself as well. She's the knight and the heroine of her story.

Zhuang Hanyan, #TheGlory.

She was flawed, vengeful, villainous at times, written in a way that is rare to see for FLs these days. I love that on her journey to get revenge she ended up helping & empowering other women.

The use of the circular windows and doorways in #TheGlory really stood out to me.

And the way they shot one of the scenes at the memorial in the forest, as if someone was peeking at the characters from behind the trees and bamboo.
It's as if the camera is standing a foot away from a circular glassless window. There are two orb shaped lamps, one on each side of the window, out of focus because the focus is on the subjects outside the window. Ruan Xiwen and her personal maid stand far off in the distance pleading at the door of a room across the courtyard. Ruan Xiwen is perfectly placed in the center of the circular window. A blurry Hanyan and her personal maid standing in front of a circular doorway in the courtyard. Day 5: Visually beautiful 2025 drama.

The team that worked on #TheGlory did a beautiful job with the cinematography, costumes, and set designs.

And #MoonRiver has had some stunning landscape shots so far.

Day 3: Favorite actor discovered.

Deng Kai, #LoveOfTheDivineTree and #BrokentheHeart

I'm not usually a fan of overly comedic characters but he made it work in a fun way in LTDT. And while BTH was not the best drama I've ever watched, his acting in it was enjoyable!

Day 2: Favorite actress discovered.

Li Muchen, #FortuneWriter and #BrokenTheHeart

Fortune Writer was my favorite performance between the two. She played the flawed yet sympathetic Su Yunqi perfectly.

And the fact that even though her words and hate are aimed at Xiao Huan, and Luo Xianxue knows this, LXX can't help but feel as if she's talking to him. Because he's yet another loved one who's lying to her, hurting her, and he's racked with guilt because of it.

I loved, loved! this scene. We get to hear how she really feels about everything. She's free to yell at the emperor without any consequences because he is only a hallucination.

More eps also would've allowed for a more satisfying arc involving the main leads' identity reveals and how that affected their relationship. But overall, really happy I watched this one. It came very close to passing The Blossoming Love as my favorite fantasy drama of the year so far.

I finished Love in the Clouds! Really enjoyed the beginning and loved the middle (seriously some of the most satisfying fantasy genre romance I've watched recently). And while the last third felt a little rushed, it still had a satisfying ending.
