I pulled a package of stewing beef purchased in July. It was $5.99 per pound. Going rate today at the same grocery store? 10.99 a pound. We can NOT sustain and the corporations can NOT expect us to keep absorbing these kind of rising prices.

Affordability isn't possible with rabid inflation.

Wealth preservation isn't possible with rabid inflation.

Growing wealth isn't possible with rabid inflation.

The problem isn't affordability, it's Trump's inflation due to Trump's tariffs.

He's a mad king out to strip us all of our wealth.

Also you get the same quantity of packaged goods. The price increased and quantity shrank.

My family and I moved to Europe two months ago. Yesterday, my wife and I went to the local market. We bought 3 lbs of potatoes, a head of cauliflower, 2 onions, a big head of lettuce, 2 big parsnips, and a bundle of cilantro.

It cost us about $9.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Think of seniors on Social Security who do not get pay raises and everything is so high. Then we have the threat of removal of our Social Security Benefits hanging like a sword over our heads. This is not the "golden age" and I will not age gracefully. Fuck Trump!

We spent money in the community- food for 1 family, diapers for another. $$ for eye glasses for 2 waitresses and paid house taxes for another family.
Our kids & grands lack for nothing, so we spent outside our family. Not all violations if boycotting were “bad”.

The price increases across all products we purchase daily has been grossly understated by this regime. Again I say we can no longer trust any information provided by them. Our economy is distorted by the AI surge in data storage centers. Consumers are suffering because of this at all levels.

We actually received a letter from Publix after the worst of Covid, stating that their prices would NOT BE going down, but would remain the same due to their incredible profits.

Yeah groceries are up a crazy amount in 4-5 years. Grocery chains took advantage of Covid and used “supply chain” jargon nonsense as an excuse to hike prices. Corporations and their greed are insatiable and politicians can do little to stop them. I mean really what’s a committee meeting going to do?

What caused this was trickle down economics (reagan), Citizens United (Robert's court allowing corporations to buy politicians) and Repub tax cuts (Reagan, bush 1&2, trump).

Yes,TallyAnnaE- 100% They're drooling over all that FREE waterfront property. They already call it the Middle East Rivera
With Jared doing his dirty work behind the scenes.
I knew that Trump's only interested in Gaza was the free waterfront property. He's going to use American taxes to pay for clearing all the destruction- it will cost BILLIONS. He'll simply start building huge condos to sell a enormous profits. Once again screwing over Americans & Gaza ppl for $$$$$$$

I had a hunch that “core inflation” was chosen for a reason, & I was right. Removing food & energy costs (two big areas of consumer spending), “core inflation” doesn’t adequately capture the true impact of these two spending areas has on many consumers.

Should Core Inflation Be Measured Differently?
The way core inflation is measured might benefit from an update.
