On 6/12, DHS Sec’y Kristi Noem said “We are staying here to liberate [LA] from the socialists and the burdensome leadership this governor and mayor have placed on this country and this city.” This use of military force to displace a democratically elected is the very definition of a coup.

So we could lose $200B in tourism, $100B in immigrants paying taxes, $100B in weapons manufacturing, $500B in lost tax revenue from firing IRS employees… is it sinking in yet?
International tourism is worth $200 billion every year to the US economy.

Got email from @RepChuckEdwards stating "The House voted on a clean, long-term continuing resolution (CR) to keep our govt open and providing critical services to the American people."
Correct me if I am wrong, but that was not a 'clean CR': numerous changes to current budget.

We have 7 legislative days to pass a budget and avoid a government shutdown. Rather than focus on that, my Republican colleagues are — once again — having us vote on the rights of appliances.

It's time to get to work for the American PEOPLE, not our appliances.

The government punishing a law firm for defending a client seems like the kind of tyranny we fought a revolution against.
NEW: President Trump moved Tuesday to punish a law firm for providing pro bono legal services to Jack Smith as he prepared to face a potential investigation from the Trump administration.

He is stripping security clearnces and govt funding from the firm. www.politico.com/news/2025/02...

One thing for Senate Democrats to do is announce they will use every tool at their disposal to block Bondi’s nomination until DOJ appoints a special counsel (ideally with beefed up firing protections) to investigate the widely reported crimes committed this week by Musk and his band of DOGE goons.
