I'm simply a daft white non-Brit that lives here and I hate that flag.

I pass and even I don't feel comfortable walking around the areas with the George's cross or union flag.

If all you want to do is give your white Brit friends permission to wave it then say that.

People of color have been polite and clear - maybe too polite with you because that's how some folks of colour need to deal with fragile nationalists.
