Well, I had an interesting Sunday night, how 'bout you?
🧵
NY-17 Rep. Mike Lawler had a local social worker physically dragged out of his town hall Sunday night.

Emily Feiner was singled out by private security, lifted out of her seat, as the crowd chanted “let her stay” and “shame, shame.”
She’s a constituent.
Not a threat.
Fascism again.

Remember in the movie “Aliens” when no one listened to the woman and then everyone died? That’s what the vibe feels like right now.

I used to say politics was being treated like pro wrestling, but the difference now is that in pro wrestling, the performers know the outcome, the audience doesn't. In 2025, the audience (the public) will know too - whatever Trump wants, the GOP will give him.
New in PN: Senate Republicans won't save us

"In our new MAGA reality, the political cost for Republicans who’d block unfit, morally degenerate nominees is far greater than just blindly supporting them."
Senate Republicans won't save us
John McCain isn't walking through that door.

In 2016, Trump won MI, PA, and WI—and as a result, the Electoral College—by less than 78,000 votes.

In 2020, Biden won AZ, GA, and WI—and thus the EC—by less than 45,000 votes.
Out of roughly 153 million votes cast in this election, the presidency was decided by 230k across the three states of Wisconsin (30k), Michigan (80k) and Pennsylvania (120k). That's 00.15%.

This remains an extremely closely divided nation. Any agenda viewed as extreme is likely to face backlash.

Literally can’t stand Scott Jennings, he makes anything he is on unwatchable.
Jennings: Have it my friend, you’re the expert. You act like one.

Rieckhoff: Have you served in uniform?

Jennings: I have served as a US citizen

Rieckhoff: I might have a bit of experience that you don’t

Mandate? Trump is now under 50% in the popular vote with his margin ranking 44th out of 51 elections since 1824.

4 Democrats won Senate seats in states Trump carried—compared to zero in 16 and 20.

GOP poised for its smallest House majority since the U.S. had 50 states.

Just absorbing the fact that the first order of business in the new QAnon-inflected MAGA Republican era is to demand that Congress bury its report on sex trafficking and drug allegations against a Republican member of Congress who they're trying to promote to higher office.

Ahahahahahaha! I’m not sure what’s funnier - Musk being referred to as “first buddy”, or the fact that he is apparently the only one who might understand what a tariff actually is? 🤦🏻‍♀️
WAPO: ".. Several people in Trump’s circle expressed astonishment Saturday that Musk would publicly push .. while the president-elect was still weighing his decision.

“'People are not happy,' said one person in contact with campaign officials .."
