Pin it to me, baby!
I'm Daniel, an Omnigamer and amatuer cook who loves to explore new ways of thematic expression in games, especially through the shared experience of food.
My feast content is on hiatus while I explore new options, but you can find me as cohost on @omnigamers.bsky.social
I'm standing behind an arrangement of Lord of the Rings games and memorabilia and a plate of ring shaped pizza pretzels. I'm standing in front of a kallax shelf of games wearing a cooking apron, and holding a wok in front of me. The board game Wok N Roll is inside the wok A berry pie with a large X cut in the top and several cold coins on a table with various components for the board game Forgotten Waters arranged around it. A plate of salmon with a berry compote and grilled carrots, alongside various components for the board game Cascadia.

I've been curious about Vantage having heard nothing but effusive praise till now, but I've been burnt by too many Stonemaier games being all promise and no gel, like learning American Kinder Eggs have no toy. My impression is that it seems like a series of roleplaying prompts in search of a system.

Vantage is a perfect game. Naturally, I had to find problems with it.

I'm a little sad to see that Phantasy Star 2 removes the Wizardry-style first person dungeons. I don't have a great feel for the new dungeon-structure, but this parallax foreground is pretty incredible for it's time (albeit disorienting)

I'm relatively new to the JRPG genre, and it's been fascinating to explore it's origins from a historical perspective. It's particularly hard to excavate it's original design decisions from the layers of rereleases and 'Quality of Life' improvements. This week, we perform some digital archaeology!

Not many board games are as mysterious as City of Six Moons. Is it a puzzle? A training ground for historical preservation? A grift? To answer those questions and many more, today we’re joined by Amabel Holland to discuss her oddest title yet. Listen here: spacebiff.com/2025/10/07/s...

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is one of the greatest games I've played. I wanted to show my love for the game and did so in the only way I knew I could, by learning how to make baguettes!

Recipe can be found here:

twice a year the entire U.S. press becomes a marketing extension of a single billionaire-owned retailer, and nobody in any position of editorial power thinks it's weird or gross

It plays pretty well at two not definitely feels it would be best at 3-4. The expansion is pretty simple, just adding a large city with various special rules. But by default you can always deliver any goods there which reduces the incentives of spreading your network.

Our neighborhood is already pretty saturated with them but last time I tried the mint cookies it seemed they'd changed up the recipe and they were nowhere near as good.

Remasters are great but they should never come at the expense of accessibility for the original (in this case literal expense at 4x the cost)

I haven't had much time or money for crowdfunding but the few I've seen lately I've been shocked how much space is given to vague "this game is fun" quotes and how little to explaining what the game actually is
