What the hell. I pledged $800 to a tabletop gaming Kickstarter described as a “miniature bonanza”. This is what I just got in the mail:
A miniature copy of the card game Bohnanza.

Yeah! I set up a family Slack about 10 years ago and we use it in lieu of a big unwieldy text group. If I were doing it today it would probably be a Discord, of course.

in a doctor's waiting room and just caught an INTRIGUING snippet of conversation from two old ladies in the corner. One lady whisper speaks, "Oh I just can't *stand* that man, with his **puppets.**"

Dude, the venom in her voice hitting "puppets" was AMAZING. She despises a puppeteer! How whimsical!

Diane Keaton insisted that the lobster in the Annie Hall scene be released back into the ocean, and since lobsters can live for decades that lobster could still be out there in the Atlantic, probably downplaying its Woody Allen connection after years of bragging about it.

a fun thing that never sucks at all is people making the same joke that your post made in their replies

Wow I can't believe how much the stretch goal content bloated the box size. This is why crowdfunding is bad and evil.

Time spent photoshopping miniature Bohnanza box: 5 minutes

Time spent framing photo so my jaunty watchband and stylish socks were in frame: 15 minutes

I saw this Reddit post and couldn't resist:
Reddit post: "A year ago today, I finally convinced my friend group we should try to get into board gaming by buying a heavier game like Catan..."

Below that, a modified meme: "Since that encounter, my life has never known peace. The following day, games started manifesting in my house physically."

In American Psycho, Patrick Bateman yells "Try getting a reservation at Dorsia now, you fuckin' stupid bastard!"

I wonder if that was the line as written or if Christian Bale, being British, delivered it in a way that subconsciously felt more natural to him.

Actually y'know, fuck my doomerism.
A sign, in green, stating WELCOME with triangle and exclamation mark. Below is the text which reads as follows:
This place is a blessing
and part of a system of blessings

cherish it deeply!

Sending this blessing was meaningful to us.
We considered ourselves a joyful community.

This place is a place of honor
many cherished deeds are celebrated here
everything valued thrives here.

What is here was nurturing and delightful to us.
This blessing is a message of hope.

The hope is in a special location
it radiates outward from a center
the center of hope is here
of a unique shape and size
and beneath us.

The hope is ever-present, in your time,
as it was in ours.

The hope is for the spirit, and it can heal. The form of
the hope is a flow of light. The hope is shared freely when you lovingly engage with this place physically.

This place is best embraced and cared for.

Shit's getting so bad I just caught myself thinking about Mastodon. Mastodon, for God's sake!
