🌱 Just started diving into @radicle.xyz – a P2P platform for hosting and collaborating on code without centralized servers. Full control, no censorship. I had my (current) AI assistant whip up a quick-start guide.
Curious?
Have you used it?
Thoughts?

This classic work in the history of nationalism argues that the rise of widely available print (esp. newspapers) made it possible for geographically dispersed groups of people to imagine themselves as a roughly coherent entity called "a nation" in which there was an ongoing conversation.

Others have noted it but I will too: The big reason Bluesky is so hot right now is that the people who add value to social media - the frequent posters in specific fields - are here now, talking to each other and creating the "spectator value" that draws users and attention.

It’s starting to happen. Non-techy people, friends and family are asking what Bluesky is 👀

Here here!
It's far from mission accomplished but if nothing else comes of this fortunate Bluesky wave, it should be considered proved that it's *possible* to challenge the incumbent social apps with open alternatives.

Smart investors should be thinking *now* about funding atproto/Reddit, atproto/Tiktok, etc.

seeing how far along we have come thanks for this fucking awesome team is so cool. i joined the core team the week we dropped invite codes, and i remember us all thinking that was a massive wave.

lol. lmao.

For everyone who thinks BlueSky is nicer because people are nicer on here…

The network is not large enough to incentivize bad actors from coming in and ruining things.

Facebook and Twitter were both “nice” when they started.

Good community features will help stave this off, but won’t avoid 100%

Radicle now has full Tor support, working with SOCKS5 and transparent proxies. This means nodes can be accessed via .onion addresses, letting peers behind NATs connect directly and privately.
