Big band klezmer from Japan! A tight seventeen piece band helmed by Kazutoki Umezu featuring the vocal stylings of Tokyo Nammy & Makigami Koichi. Blends traditional klezmer with more experimental impulses, branching out in all directions. Joyous.

Veretski Pass & Joel Rubin put out a new album on Borscht Beat today. They're kind of like the "early music scholars" of the klezmer scene with a very rich sound as a result. Saw them preview this album live in Victoria this past summer in a historic synagogue venue there, really great.

Hanging out at 2AM getting started writing some Christmas cards and listening to "Chronika" by the Klezmer Brass All Stars. 😎🤘
