The Déliquescent Future
@bothpithyandangry.bsky.social
Old-ass trans woman from the bad old days. Work as a professional trauma dumpster. Have a dog for when I'm sad and a bsky for when I'm pissed off.

Won't post my face, my hometown or my employer.

The AI Art horror is very like the trans-girls-in-sports horror in that both interpret complex and socially crucial forms of play as competitions in which participation is structured on performance, not on fun.

I can't unthink Pam Korda's critique of it though, with the divide between worthy, intelligent professionals and the slovenly, creepy working-class fans. Reminds me of Grant Morrison's icky autobiography...

You will not land at your current level of income and financial security. That's going to have to be how it is.

The bill's sponsor seems to be a typical not-crazy Alaska Republican with no wackadoo bills on the table

I feel like when I was a boy my roommates didn't expect me to buy the toilet paper and remember when the electric bill was due so they could focus on Warcraft, but I may be venting a little here

I know it's tedious to say this but being shot at close range by a blank can be lethal. Just my daily pedantic PSA.

At the time nobody much cared about the Jewish ones, hence the US actively preventing Jewish refugees from fleeing to the states, or refusing to bomb the railroad tracks to the camps

It's fascinating to read of people freaking out seeing late Victorian marionettes that could pick up bottles or draw swords, or read old reviews of Terminator 2. The window of what is "real" shifts all the time, I don't know that AI-driven change is unrecoverable.

Absolutely most gratifying shit I've seen all day

3d printer operation seems to be the natural job of 13 year olds and so far I have been able to comfortably outsource all my needs.

It means you have left Alaska

Has anyone built a map of land transfers across all states and territories to ICE?
