sometimes family history stuff is devastating. been going through old documents in my grandma's things and found a letter from 1996 from her nephew, coming out as gay and detailing how he tried to escape it using drugs and alcohol, and by joining the military, but nothing worked.

I've been visiting my grandma the last few days, and her and her sister are like marathoning hallmark movies. every night a new princess is sneaking away to a small town so she can feel Normal and Free for a while
