If the Senate Democrats do this, yes, it’s a massive betrayal of their base and an unconscionable abdication of their duty.

To me, this is exactly the wrong conclusion to draw IF you're interested in helping people. If you're only interested in winning elections then it's probably correct. But then they have to ask themselves is, why are they trying to win elections?
