I think we can be more optimistic than that. Arsenal have put in some stinkers recently and City have had a bad run of results as well. No idea what you’ll get with Chelsea on any given day, either. And everybody in that list bar Everton has Europe to think about.

This all sounds to me like confirmation we’re definitely signing Strand Larsen.

Think that was the World Cup break. Kalvin was done at City before that though; Pep and his coaches apparently decided in the first few training sessions that Phillips couldn’t play the role the way Pep wanted and that was that.

Yeah, I’d say at most Palace only need another 10 points.
January 16, 2026 at 2:21 PM
Nah, that would mean West Ham or Burnley getting 15 or 16 more points than Palace over the rest of the season. Can’t see that happening.

Wolves know they’re going down so they’ll sell if a good enough bid comes in. I don’t think it will be to us, mind…

Oh, 100%. Slow-mo and freeze frames should not be in use at all.

I particularly hate the “Ah, you can see from this one angle in ultra slow-mo that he got the faintest touch with a single stud on the ball a nanosecond before he completely wiped the player out, therefore no foul” variant of this.

Wouldn’t it be the same probability for any specific mix of results? E.g. exactly 35 away draws or exactly 1 away draw from the same number of fixtures?

I suppose the point is it’s really unlikely we get 35 away draws, but also no more or less unlikely than any other set of outcomes…

Their rent is dirt cheap as it is, as well. The taxpayer really did get a nonsense deal.

Deleted the post because I don’t like being negative about players, but he’s frustrating. Clearly got loads of ability but just never does anything. Or at least not anywhere near consistently enough.
January 11, 2026 at 1:45 PM
Yeah, he’s had a decent game. Intelligent link up play and got some good shots off. I even think the penalty was decent tbf - was a good save.
January 11, 2026 at 1:19 PM
Yeah, exaggerating a bit, but we do seem to have a habit of coming up against lower league keepers in the cup who lift themselves and have the game of their lives. That chap for Wednesday has been rubbish since we played them.
January 11, 2026 at 1:01 PM
Haha, of course I turned it on just to see Piroe miss the penalty and then Derby score!
January 11, 2026 at 12:38 PM
Nice one.
January 11, 2026 at 12:36 PM
Ampadu dropping in to make it 3 at the back, Harrison and Gnonto the wingbacks, Gruev and Tanaka in midfield with Okafor playing in behind Piroe and Nemecha? Very offensive, that.

Interestingly, I thought Aaronson’s best moments came when he was playing off Bamford, and we’re now seeing his form improve hugely by playing off DCL.
