As the school term winds down, our learning team is still hard at work, continuing Holocaust education outside of the classroom.

Here’s Hannah, our Head of Learning at Holocaust Centre North, with Elissa, a third-generation Holocaust survivor @bradfordlitfest.bsky.social earlier this month.

Brilliant talk today at @bradfordlitfest.bsky.social listening to @robinince.bsky.social and @pierrenovellie.bsky.social talk about their books and neurodiversity. Very funny, and they were lovely enough to sign my books 🩷 I tried not to waffle, but I feel like I might have failed on that front 😅

Last minute decision to take the family to see @robinince.bsky.social and @pierrenovellie.bsky.social at @bradfordlitfest.bsky.social this afternoon. Seeing as I'm halfway through Pierre's book on Kindle and have Robin's latest to read next.
It might seem like there would be no need to diagnose an under-or oversensitivity to something like smell or sound.
After all, some people have a great sense of smell, what about people who work in wine or perfume? Are they autistic now?
They may very well be. Often when people react to new information about autism they end up accidentally correctly pointing out evidence of autism as opposed to evidence of its absence. They end up like someone throwing up their arms in frustration and saying, 'Oh! So I suppose this means everyone at the Trainspotters' Guild could be autistic? Next, you'll be telling me that all my shy friends in the university maths department are autistic too!' My friend, the odds are good.

The Bard of Salford came to Bradford. 🎸

What an incredible evening with John Cooper Clarke and Nihal Arthanayake. He said his time at BLF was smooth; he gave us a taste of some new material and chatted about how he's never met Bob Dylan...

I'm back on the road in Bradford today, covering @bradfordlitfest.bsky.social.

Early impressions are very good. Extraordinarily well organised festival, with a truly excellent programme of events.

Some amazing stuff for kids and adults alike. Big fan.

Seen my first of two @bradfordlitfest.bsky.social events - a great look at haunted literature with some real life tales thrown in as well. I liked Clare's poetry and will probably grab a copy of their Uncanny-inspired 'I Know What I Saw' when it comes out. #Bradford2025
