You have to come from the perspective that all of these companies are shortsighted. C-Suite bonuses are tied to quarterly stock prices. There is no long term planning, only manipulation of the balance sheet to juice the stock. They are going to get CRAZY with prices in the short term.
Here’s the thing about the tariffs: there will be no “short term pain”. Only long term. Every time a company realizes they can get away with charging you extra they don’t ever lower the price again. They just gouge. Whatever price hikes there are will be here for good.

**taps sign**

1. Personal financial gain.
2. Stay out of prison after this term.
3. Revenge.
4. Repay oligarchs.

If you can’t cram motive for one of this “administration’s” actions into one of these four, it’s misdirection while they do something the motive for which is one of these four.
If I am understanding correctly this is DOGE's version of "gov't efficiency"

Blast an unbaked email, create mass confusion, make managers dream up their interpretation of the guidance, and then days later say, "Nevermind."

Then another email kicks off the whole process again.

Gov't efficiency!

Does anyone have an example where an increased cost like this WASN’T passed directly to the consumer? Other than boutique guitar pedals (seriously, the prices have stayed the same for like 10 years).
