There's a direct line from Unit 731 to some of the stuff we did in Korea, and that's before even getting into the unimaginable anticommunist violence we institutionalized and empowered. We killed at least 20% of the population. The DPRK is like that for a reason.

More than maybe any other war, growing up in the US means you basically learn absolutely nothing about the Korean War, maybe a paragraph in school, and I want to be sympathetic to people who grow up deliberately uninformed, but you have to be a real dumb asshole to uncritically say shit like this

„I like people“ seems to be the most important part to me - because it kinda points out that the leading people who develop and promote AI feel the opposite. They *don‘t* like people, probably are afraid of people. For them, AI is supposed to be a replacement for „real“ people („transhumanism“ etc).
