Hello to everyone following me because you clicked on the Lancer TTRPG Creators Starter Pack thinking "eh, why not," you may know from things like "nothing" or "who the fuck is this guy?" My name is Kai Tave, and sometimes I work on the #LancerRPG in various capacities. Here's the stuff I've done

The only things missing from my life are all of the good parts.

They're really phoning it in with Call of Duty lately
kaitave.bsky.social
If that's what you want then just fuckin say it! Just say "I want to flood the zone with shit too" instead of couching it like it's some leftist circular firing squad problem
kaitave.bsky.social
People are now unironically talking about "purity tests" where the "purity" in question is "not posting obviously fake made-up shit," like they're actively resentful that they can't just do what the right does and openly lie

"LET HIM SPEAK!"

9" x 12" ink and watercolor on watercolor paper.
Somewhere, in the Deep reaches of space, an assembly has gathered on a space station. During a heated discussion on the design and capabilities of mecha, Isamu Kurogane (Lance) stands tall and dares to speak the truth. "Every Gundam is worse than Voltron because his hands are lion mouths!!!" he declares without shame. His bravado has impressed the Red Comet, Char Aznable, while confusing and insulting Amuro Ray. The delaration is heard to mixed reactions by many other mecha pilots (not by Shinji Ikari, he is doing his best to ignore him).

Have you destroyed the Trojan Horse? Just use the Zakrello. Mass-produce the Big Zam. The Gouf can do it. Literally just use the Adzam. This is a job for the Gogg. Dude use the Zeong. It's a Bigro specialty. Use the Gelgoog. The Gelgoog can do it. Just send the Gelgoog at it. Deploy the Gelgoog to d

"well what are the Democrats supposed to do" I don't know! They're supposed to know! I'm not the one who sought and obtained a political position that would require me to know what to do when the ruling party attempts to install the President as a dictator!

Reign, the TRPG, plays with this in the sense that most people only know how to work iron, while one nation has figured out how to forge steel and this is the closely guarded secret of their exceptional quality weapons

I live in Marie Gluesenkamp Perez’s district, and she makes me want to pull my hair out.

She’s possibly the biggest “Aw shucks, I’m just a fascist like you” phony Dem of them all. An absolute living caricature of the worst kind of Democrat imaginable

The Betrayals of Marie Gluesenkamp Perez
The representative from Washington has been hailed as the future of Democratic politics. But for those of us who actually live in her district, she’s just more of the same.

Yeah you could absolutely lean into that element if you wanted. Even the Firaxis XCOM has that one particularly notable Newfoundland mission that introduces Chryssalids
kaitave.bsky.social
You can argue that the BSAA stuff detracts from the horror elements and turns it into too much of an action movie beat, which is just more evidence that you could get a lot of mileage out of "well okay we aren't doing horror with it then, we'll do something else"

The RE4-6 period where monsters are finally seeing use as the bioweapons they were ostensibly intended to be and the formation of groups and organizations specifically designed to deal with those monsters is like the perfect setup for "XCOM but with zombies and Tyrants"
kaitave.bsky.social
I think Resident Evil should get a tactics game imo
dragoncobolt.bsky.social
Resident evil gets a lot of flack for the 4-6 era (deservedly so) but the idea that a corporation just kills an entire city and zombies get clawed with suicide bombers and nukes as just something you shrug and deal with is kind of amazing
kaitave.bsky.social
Everything from RE4 onward is other companies, weird cults, and Wesker being Wesker
kaitave.bsky.social
Yeah but by 6, Umbrella was already done and dusted for all practical purposes. Basically, it went "Racoon City has to get completely destroyed to contain the BOW outbreak" in RE2, and then the start of RE4 has Leon narrate that Umbrella went under due to being unable to sweep that under the rug
kaitave.bsky.social
It's pretty hard to come back from "the President had to drop a nuke on a US city because you have such shitty lab safety standards"

Like originally the bioweapons thing is just a conceit for "why is this mansion full of zombies and giant spiders" but I like that they do eventually commit to the bit
kaitave.bsky.social
I do appreciate after multiple games full of text logs where they keep talking about all the fucked up monsters being designed as "bioweapons" that they do ultimately end up showing them used as such
