I literally saw a post two weeks back in which a guy with two jobs was flagellating himself because he was short on rent, lamenting that had he donated plasma more, maybe his rent would be on time. Shirow Masamune bought a Colour Photocopier back when they were ungodly expensive, and installed it in his home studio. a lot of his weird colour work comes from painting panels and them colour copying the work with weirdo settings + overlays until they reached psychedelic moire patterns.
The GitS manga's first depiction of optic camouflage looks really pretty in color.
