well if they're going to be accused of it anyway they might as well actually help people resist ice, don't you think?

a solid year of handwringing about how the admin was going to try to bait ordinary people into violence, and it turns out they just shoot people themselves and that's a pretext
the federalist is pushing for a military invasion of minnesota, accusing the state's democratic leaders of "stochastic terrorism" and incitement to violence against law enforcement by telling people to resist i.c.e.

at the moment it's still a little too gauche to just say race traitor, but they'll get there
it's sort of funny that white is now an epithet on the right if paired with woman and liberal

Can you guess who authored this piece without looking at the byline? Who might not have any relevant expertise in nutrition, but would make it a habit of trying to hand it to RFKJ?

i looked at research papers while writing a protest safety guide last year and getting hit with less lethals instead of regular arms almost exactly halves your chances of serious injury and halves your chances of death. that's all. 1/2 reduction
this very easily could have killed the guy getting shot. these "less lethals" are not that at point plank ranges

would be pretty cool if states were paying ice watchers but for that you need... the dems. as always
States can create citizen militias independent of the National Guard. I’d like to see governors and state legislators think creatively about that power when it comes to monitoring federal agents operating in their state, particularly if they don’t trust police forces to do so.

The woman killed by ICE today was a poet. She won the 2020 Academy of American Poets, University & College Poetry Prize at Old Dominion University.

(And this is Renee from confirmed socials- a photo of a different woman with red lipstick is going around, but that was a classmate.)

In 2019, a correctional officer drove his truck into a group of peaceful protestors outside an ICE detention facility in Central Falls, Rhode Island. That incident, too, was caught on video.

The Rhode Island AG later announced that no charges would be filed against the driver.
No charges from confrontation at Wyatt
Attorney General Peter Neronha confirmed that a statewide grand jury had decided no charges were warranted in the Aug. 10 peaceful protest that turned ugly — not against the guard who drove the truck…

not sure if the worst part here is threatening to deploy the national guard if *protestors* become violent, or referring to federal goons murdering someone in the street as "bait"
Governor Walz says he's prepared to deploy the Minnesota National Guard if protests become violent in reaction to ICE fatally shooting a woman in Minneapolis.

"We will not take the bait," adds Walz, saying he's also angry but demonstrations should remain lawful.

i'm at the point where as far as i'm concerned the GOP and its electoral results are just presumptively illegitimate. i don't care if they win elections. if when you have power you use it to blackbag, murder and coup you have no role in a democratic system, period, forever

i am uh... definitely concerned that we won't beat the fascists. even if they get obliterated in elections there's no clear reason the next coup attempt won't work
my #1 worry about the next five years is not that we won't beat the fascists. we will absolutely beat the fascists.

we might lose to the centrists.

like, if he loses an election, there's going to be a coup. I have been repeating for ages, over and over, that it will happen and it will probably work. but he has a lot of time to continue setting up for it so I think he will
