The Democrats are so conditioned to the media blaming them for anything that goes wrong in politics and government (and giving the GOP a pass) that they’ve got the yips in this shutdown.
They’re clearly winning the argument but can’t believe it’s true so they’re eager to cave!

The Democrats’ inability to keep taking a win and instead enable a bunch of arsonists to continue setting fire to things is really something.
if the Democrats are willing to accept this deal, in particular, i don't think a single Senator should make it through their primary. this just makes health inequity worse and lets Trump send out checks with his name on them!

That involves sending federal money into FSAs instead of insurance companies" www.wsj.com/politics/pol...

Legacy car-dependent suburbs have always been financially unsustainable and the combination of municipal debt, climate change and demographics are going to wreak havoc on that development model sooner than we think.

Yet another reason not to capitulate. Mark Carney and Doug Ford took the ad down to play nice in the sandbox and what’d they get for it? A 10% tariff. Might as well stand your ground and keep pissing him off if you’re gonna end up in the same place anyway.
The president of the United States is “increasing the Tariff on Canada by 10%” because he worries the nine justices on the Supreme Court could be swayed by a 30-second commercial.

For years “free market conservatives” railed against non-existent “uncertainty” and “socialism” under Democratic presidents but now it’s all fine by them because MAGA cut billionaires’ taxes and gutted worker and consumer protections, which were the things they disliked all along.
“.. The US now doles out nearly $200 billion in direct subsidies for favored businesses each year, and the president has imposed an expansive tariff regime, which will likely invite corruption, waste tax dollars, and sap ambition.”

MAGA is awash in violent rhetoric and is doubling down on it based on this heinous act, but the media ascribes them no agency.

Yup… essentially what I’m geared up for until I’m six feet under.
Someone recently said to me that things will get worse before they get better, but that is not true. There is no guarantee that anything gets better. Things can just continue getting worse and worse.

One of the most confounding things about American politics is that politicians are free to crap all over blue states but somehow are all required to exalt red states despite the obviously better quality of life in the former compared to the latter.
