On Veterans Day, a beacon is lit atop Mount Diablo to commemorate the day. This year, the Northern Lights painted the skies a light pink along side the mountain.

A Great Horned Owl waits in a tree, looking for its next meal to scurry across the leaf covered hillside in Walnut Creek. The owl’s hearing and eye sight is amazing as it silently zeroes in on a mouse.

An American White Pelican does a fly by at the Lafayette Reservoir as a recent storm clears. The flock of pelicans were circling the waters taking advantage of the strong winds.
