Anyone using Homey for home automation stuff? I'm getting ready to set up my new house and I'm just curious if I should try Homey or just stick to Home Assistant.

More than anything I need good UX to convince my wife to use it. She doesn't like how confusing Home Assistant can be.

Wrapping up the day with something special: last month, I won an award at City Hall for my work with veterans. It means a lot because I was told people here (ATL) care more about winning than how they win. This award proves you can succeed ethically, with integrity, and without cutting corners.

"It's written in Rust" is not a feature of your app. "It's blazing fast" is a hollow claim that makes me doubt it.

Please stop putting these things on your homepage. Please show me why your tool/app/whatever makes my work easier/cheaper/faster-to-iterate.

@neondatabase.bsky.social

Here's the video, links to the app and source are in the next one. Let me know what you think!

Is the Ubiquiti Dream Machine still best set up for a home network?

- Good UI/UX is important
- 2Gbps Internet
- Cat 6 in the walls
- Need PoE for cameras
- I'm too dumb to run EdgeRouter. I did for years and hated it
- I do have WiFi 7 devices and two spots to ceiling mount APs
- Lots of devices

It includes ~75 wonderful people in the web dev community who are doing inspiring work. I know I’ve missed some folks; I plan on adding to it over time.

Starter packs are such a great idea. Immediately makes Bluesky feel less lonely for newcomers. 😄
