I was dealing with a very smart 5-year-old yesterday and as much as a handful as he is, I have to remember not to blow smoke up his butt for being so clever. A gifted/neurodivergent kid like he is does, not need that, he needs to be acknowledged by engagement and then validating his abilities.

I’ve had a bit of a stomach upset for a few days, but I made chicken and corn soup tonight because well, at least it would come back looking just how it went in, if I can’t keep it down.

Another episode in the melodrama #Briar‘sNotHappy:
2 days ago I got in next door’s pool on a sunny 28° day. Today it is 20° tomorrow it will be 16°.
This is not what I call living my best life.
(kinda joking)
But seriously, how am I supposed to keep up my water exercise in glamorous swimwear?

Tooled around in my garden, moved approximately four bags of clothing and some pieces of fabric.
Supposed to be looking for a recipe but all I can do is obsess/scroll/research about onsen baths and home-made woodfired hot tubs…

Out for breakfast.
Posh people eating.
They definitely don't have as much fun as me.

The true death toll is between 99,997 and 125,925.. the indirect death toll will be far higher, but what this says about people who continually panders to Israel’s lies will be damning.

Gaza’s true death toll could be 126,000 or even higher
New research suggests Gaza’s death toll may be far higher than widely reported, with devastating implications for life expectancy, poverty and accountability.

I need something to help me with my cranky mood. Oh yeah I stopped taking that medication. I didn’t know that it stopped me from feeling cranky – it pretty much stopped me from feeling anything.
(I was taking it for anxiety and depression).
Anyway, aren’t feelings great?

Getting older sometimes means watching reels of young folk cutting up miles & miles of raw veg vegan food with very self-satisfied- self righteous looks on their faces, while my guts gurgle & protest about the idea of raw veggies.

I was half reclined on the couch, leaning against back of it, having a weird, adventurous dream.
I have woken up feeling exhausted-
as if I’ve been slammed over the back of the head with a bit of 4 by 2.

Johnny went opshopping & found the soundtrack to #TheDish, and I can’t figure out why anyone would want to throw it out.
Beautiful music composed by #EdmundChoi plus a list of knock out hits from that era- much of them Australian.

The Dish: Fact vs fiction
The Dish is an Aussie classic, set at Murriyang, our Parkes radio telescope. Most of the film is based on fact, but what was added for the sake of a (rollicking) good yarn?

Incredible proud of my memory access to make saté chicken kabobs from scratch, without a recipe.
So Good.

Still in the pool- do I have to do laps?
November 28, 2025 at 5:35 AM
It's taken far too long to get back in the pool this year.
Christening a new sun safe outfit.

Soz, is such a bitchy thing to say.
I’m just jealous of their confidence, obviously.
Dammit, I know I’m very vain but my make-up was on point last night and I didn’t take a selfie.
At least I know how not to take selfies, i.e., those very staged, very Instagram looking ones.
God I wonder if all those young people are gonna cringe when they look at theirs in 20 years and realise.

Oh dear, I am extremely disregulated and not very nice today but I am extremely exhausted and perhaps I shall not wear proper clothes or do anything at all except swim and water my garden.

I know many people in Australia look on the USA and everybody in it with derision at this time. I still have some very happy lovely memories of my living there for 5 years. I am just so thankful for turkeys, to be honest.
I just want to eat turkey until I'm sick of it.

I’m going to see #HughMcKay today at the library, speaking about his latest book. #JustSaying
It was lovely, listening to the voice of reason and kindness.
Bought the book to give to my Dad for Christmas.

Last 2 medical appointments today.
I am not a hyperchondriac.
I am just a woman in her 60s who hopes to make it to 80s.

Took the dogs for a little walk this morning to the local shop just to get them out so that would stop bugging me. Of course we had to have coffee and a croissant. And I knew just about every person that came to buy a coffee or something.
That’s what I value in this little town.

I just made myself so happy by posting a little reel on Insta about my herb garden with Joni Mitchell’s version of Woodstock playing behind it.
This is why I sit on my bum and tool around on my phone.
It’s not all about losing my brain and my will to live with electronic gizmos.

I’ve had a busy morning since I got up at six and seriously where would I fit a job into my life now?
I don’t consider myself retired, but perhaps I am.
I’m doing all the retirement things.

Last night or sometime any early hours I woke up and I had the iPad set up pretty much on my chest. I had fallen asleep playing something. I should probably lie down and go to sleep now.
