#MidsummerNightsDream was really beautiful yesterday. I had some coffee to make sure I didn’t fall asleep halfway through.
For a small town Shakespearean production, I felt like I was being treated to something really special.

#MidsummerNightsDream was really beautiful yesterday. I had some coffee to make sure I didn’t fall asleep halfway through.

I walked outside and my baby star jasmine has such powerful scent. And all Johnny can smell is our giant coriander ( I’m letting this one go to seed).

The little visitor dog & I get up just before dawn to do a spot of gardening before the day gets warm. I’m now drinking coffee and cutting all the elastic out of old undies to tie up my tomatoes. I’m cranky about this because they were nice knickers but I got too skinny for them.

I left church more than a decade ago but I seem to have been in an awful lot of them lately- that's a choir for you! Still feels very familiar & not totally unpleasant. I don't hate singing religious songs, especially to amazing music, accompanied by an orchestra.

Anyway, this was dinner, a fitting way to end an amazing day. I had to cook it, but I suppose I'm the one with the ideas.

We rehearsed for 3 hours last night - today & tomorrow will perform Handel's Messiah in 2 cathedrals. I would like to transport myself to tomorrow night and be sitting in my recliner having a drink, thank you very much.

I made a poulet en cocotte, of sorts. Healthful and wholesome but for the Marsala. Incredibly delicious.

We spent $95 at the book fair. Actually correction, husband spent $50 yesterday as well. I’ve come home very excited about a couple of these books and a couple of new herbs for my garden.

We thought it would be interesting to see which birds are still around, & which ones are under threat or have become extinct since 1997 publication.
