Good news: my last postdoc work was recently published!

Bad(ish) news: my publication count is now 13. Alas, at least 1 more now seem necessary 🤓

The hate I can at least understand.

The desire to shoot ourselves in the foot, repeatedly, will never cease to mystify me.

Here's the awkward pattern: the most promising new antidepressants are all potential drugs of abuse. That's either a problem or it's telling us something important about depression itself.

For more information about the Friday night massacre at CDC, I wrote up an analysis of who got terminated and what that means for public health.

Grateful to @saveamericamvmt.bsky.social for supporting and amplifying. We are in really terrible trouble.

Paracetamol remains an important option to treat pain or fever in pregnant women.

Following rigorous assessment of the available scientific data, we find no evidence that taking paracetamol during pregnancy causes autism in children.

ACOG reaffirms that acetaminophen is safe for managing pain and fever during pregnancy. No reputable studies support suggestions like those in HHS’s recent announcement linking acetaminophen use in pregnancy to autism; in fact, high-quality studies show no such risk. https://bit.ly/47Wxc59

Of course, by lunchtime tomorrow we could find ourselves to be (and to have always been) at war with Eurasia or Eastasia (or maybe even Oceania!), and I’ll have to take this back. But I’m going with it for now.
This war looks like it should end up being called the “Bullshitzkrieg,” because at this point, it pretty much seems to have been performative on all sides, especially on Trump’s. We should be grateful for that, but … WTAF.
