This is their MO with these deals, the terms are vague and contradictory, the goalposts keep shifting, and universities will be put into a permanent purgatory of non compliance where there will always be one more thing they need to do to please Trump

I also noted to Inside Higher Ed that the compact may be a bigger deal than individual campus settlements. The government could easily declare signatories out of compliance and use the arrangement to punish whole universities, specific programs, or individual faculty members.

I doubt Charles would haven given a flip about Trump’s stolen sword. “The request for a gift for King Charles came from a State Department liaison who used the email address “giftgirl2025” & told the museum that they were looking for “like a sword or something.”
