The perverse gift of the current American president is that news orgs can neither present his words verbatim nor edit them in a way that accurately conveys his intent and sometimes I feel like the way to handle that would be to get an actor to read them, maybe the one who did Gerry Adams.

Zika or Chikungunya. Or we could bring back the greatest hits of Ebola and Marburg. Given the gutting of USAID, we sure aren’t stopping those viruses away from the US.

Women who say things to the effect of “The feminist movement’s aim to achieve legal and social equality for women has been evil or misguided” are not in fact feminists, even if they declare themselves to be. They’re the opposite.

As much as anything else it’s survivor bias. Only people who survived first (or second, or third) exposure are still around, so clearly having had it before provides benefit, or they would have died in the first place. People mistake survivorship for fitness all the time.

I think that these 8 Senators are falling on the sword for Schumer and other Senators who wanted the shutdown to end. This allows the majority of Senators to save face; and only retiring or not up for reelection Senators take the heat.
It’s a ruse.
It’s a ruse.

Don’t worry, the US is only a month or so away from catching up to the lost status.
