I find that prop-based tricks where it's all about a mirror or special box, I generally find unsatisfying when I know it. Contrast with dexterity magic where it's about quick card manipulation or contorting enough to be in places it seems impossible. Those I like knowing to respect the skill.

I'm in a thread on SA where some folks are localizing old Korean/French/Finnish comics and the discussion about that sort of thing is fascinating. Particularly since the Finnish one is a bunch of puns that sometimes work and sometimes need a "this is why it's funny" paragraph.

Some streamers I watch have a maine coon that does that. It's fun to see a cat the size of a small child try to perch on a shoulder.

I don't think FF14 is the actual target, exactly. Not as any sort of grudge anyway. This sort of big public disruption is an advertisement for their services, "see what we can do".

It's not just one person, it's not some aura of charisma that has turned people evil, it's the whole shell of support built up around him. With that shell in place they could do the same with a sack of potatoes, "Vance is a ninny" doesn't solve things.

Yup, those different words are actually slightly different effects that matter exactly here.
I always have to look up if tokens are "put into the graveyard" when they die. They are, but I'm so used to just doing "token goes poof" until suddly it matters.

"instead" is the key word for a replacement effect. With Shelob a creature hits the graveyard and is then immediately exiled. With Gisa it never hits the graveyard, it's diverted en route.

I still laugh at how many people, when my dad died, said something along the lines of "I only talked to him once but I'm sure he was proud of you." I suspect some busybody was coaching them or something, it was like a dozen people all with very similar words.

I wish people were more willing to say "I want to help but I have no idea how/don't have the spoons myself." Honestly, for the things I've been through that sympathy and honesty would help. Instead they guess and try to turn it into a Hallmark movie and don't actually listen.

The other day while taking out the trash I saw what I thought was a USB stick. When I realized it was a vape pen I recoiled in horror at the idea of putting it into the trashbag I was already carrying to the dumpster and abandoned it instead.
