We used to call this "snow eating fog" or in this case "ice eating clouds". #WxSky #climate

"The data was key in helping scientists understand that low-lying clouds over the ice sheet could drive significant melt events."

We pay for the navy, and we have no commerce for the navy to protect; we pay for the army, and we loathe and execrate the work upon which it has been engaged.

Bluesky has a "pile on" issue where nasty people reply on someone's post with no intention for respectful dialog. The only tools we have is mute/block but I sure wish we could avoid seeing the mean comments before they reach our feeds.

This will be wild if the continued research holds true.

I would ask him to explain how "affordability is a hoax". That explanation alone would be enough to turn red into blue.
Q: “On affordability, are the 🇺🇸 people getting impatient?”

TRUMP: “They’re getting fake news from guys like you. Affordability is a hoax started by Democrats...” 🤔

I had planned to shutdown a few websites I've been running over the years, but for some reason they've recently been receiving a lot of traffic. I'm going to have to reflect on whether they still bring me joy or not. At this point in my life, this decision need to be less about numbers and revenue.

This past holiday, I was surprised by how many friends and family members brought up AI in conversation. In some cases, it was out of fear, and in other cases, simply to reflect on societal impacts. I did well by avoiding the temptation to point out what was AI and what are still algorithms.

After traveling Spain/Portugal and visiting family/friends in the "plain states", we're finally home for a few weeks. Only plan on my agenda today is a shave and getting the gas fireplace started.

For the Thanksgiving week, my wife and I opted to drive instead of fly from Sioux Falls to Dallas and back. With potential delays in flights due to weather and airport congestion, we don't find the car drive to be significantly longer than flying. Plus, we got to bring our dog with us!

This opportunity is every bit as challenging and important as issuing severe weather warnings.
NPS is hiring GS-12 fire meteorologists in the Southwest and Rocky Mountain GACCs. Benefits include:

•bipartisan support for fire
•pay during shutdowns
•overtime during fire season
•no midnight shifts, and more.

In many ways, history is marked as 'before' and 'after' Rosa Parks. She sat down in order that we all might stand up, and the walls of segregation came down.
