I'm sure we'll hear about how it's fine so long as he's okay for the playoffs. And, honestly, maybe everybody should just hold him to the same standard that he set for himself.

This part really resonated with me. I'm an asst coach for my son's Little League and travel teams. The latter is pretty lax, only playing every few Sundays during LL season.

More competitive travel teams have 3-4 practices/week, have weekend tourneys - sometimes playing as many as 3x on Sunday.

Post from mensie, hypothesizing that the Seidler brothers might make a big splash signing in order to legitimize their efforts to take over the Padres, immediately followed by a post a minute later noting that the team couldn't settle on a deal with Michael King and could be heading to arbitration. This franchise is cursed, and we are all dummies for thinking they'll ever change.
