So, when you say ‘forgotten’ … well, I mean, it’s not really, is it?

3/ The drama of football with Jack Grealish fittingly to star in the dramatic ending.
More of that at Bramley-Moore Dock will do.
Thanks for helping a good weekend become great, #Everton and my fellow #Evertonians - especially the little group around me in the North Stand. We did our bit. #UTFT

2/ Didn’t play astonishingly good football but, as they tired, we grew into it. Alcaraz and Beto showing why they think they deserve to start. Iroegbunam (still developing) in a situation where he can play. A terrible ref doing all he could to be ‘even-handed’ didn’t ruin it. Scenes at the end.

Posting the day after the #EFC game is going to be my ‘thing’ I think. Yesterday turned on half time changes. But not just the game. The day. So much ‘new routine’ before. A poor performance against v good side. Then to a different level. Passion lead to belief. Crowd reaction to effort=*Support* 1/

I saw an excellent photography exhibition in the large room that leads to the dome of the chapel. It was documenting aspects of the medical services’ work in the First World War. You’ve managed to take better photographs than I have of the models.

I always knew this was the museum for you. I even restrained from posting the gas masks out of consideration for you. Thanks for following the tip.

Drinking alone? It’s the slippery slope.

I always tell myself before that second BIG glass of red.

Interesting portrait. What’s the significance of the map she’s holding?

Nathan Gill is no fringe politician.

He was the leader of the Reform Party and before that UKIP in Wales.

A Brexit Party MEP.

A friend and ally of Nigel Farage, who in 2016 called him:

"terrific," and "as honest as the day is long."

This is a MASSIVE story

When there’s a handball against Everton we get some of the most technologically advanced camera’s you’ve ever seen.

Salah handballs and it’s like footage from a takeaways CCTV on an episode of Crimewatch from 2006.

Not once in 410 Premier League games has there been 3 (or fewer) minutes added on for stoppage time.

Not once…. Until today.

To be fair, it’s a reprint of a ‘classic’ war experience. The book is ok but the publisher’s clearly clueless. Don’t buy that one look for Behrend (As from Kemmel Hill is another of his) on abebooks or get it from a charity shop.

Enjoyed the game yesterday, despite the result. Sign of our progress. Villa have dropped off since we lost to them at Goodison - fouls, time wasting, etc.
Thought it was interesting that playing James Garner at LB passed unremarked after the game. He just did what he does - a good job #EFC

Does anyone have the biographical details of Sidney Cecil Hurst, the author of ‘Silent Cities’ - a book probably known to those interested in the subject of #WW1 #BattlefieldTourism ? I know he served in both the #FWW and #WW2 #SWW and about his career as an #IWGC architect etc. #FWWHist

Gary Lineker on winning the National TV Award,

"It's not lost on me why I might have won this award"

"Aside from presenting Match of the Day.."

"Also, I think it demonstrates that perhaps it's ok sometimes to use our platform to speak up on behalf of those who have no voice"

This has led to the refinement of what I hope will be seen as a fine comparison likening a PhD to the #FirstWorldWar:

“One long & continuous engagement, embarked on with hope it’ll produce a good outcome. But with many casualties on the way and no guarantee of ultimate success.”

I’ve spent the last two days in the company of several lovely people on a course for Collaborative Doctoral Partnership supervisors from non-HEIs. Given me plenty to think about. Which is *a good thing*.
