Last night I joined @TernerCenter for their 10th Anniversary celebration— marking a decade of research driving real housing solutions in CA.

We discussed what’s next for housing reform, the push to lower construction costs, and turning new laws into homes for Californians.

For too long, it’s taken years — sometimes decades — to build the homes our families need in CA. Endless red tape, slow approvals & outdated rules have left too many Californians struggling to find or afford a place to live. The Fast Track Housing Package changes that.

Yesterday’s warnings forced families to brace for raids that never should’ve been planned in the first place. Calling them off is the right move — but the damage to trust and safety is real. We’ll stay organized, peaceful, and ready to defend our neighbors.

Trump’s use of federal agents for immigration sweeps is an evolving situation across the Bay Area. As details unfold, let’s keep our focus on protecting each other — not feeding the narrative Trump wants to spin.

The surge of federal immigration agents to the Bay Area and threats to send the National Guard to SF are flagrant abuses of power intended to instill fear, target political opponents, and chill dissent.

San Francisco and Bay Area neighbors are bracing themselves for increased action this week:

Let me be clear: San Francisco does not want or need a military occupation.

Despite Republican fantasies to the contrary, San Francisco has a lower crime rate than many Republican-run states and municipalities.

It was wonderful to tour the People’s Park Housing site & see this long-overdue project moving forward on schedule.

By creating homes for more than 1,000 students, we’re easing the campus housing crunch, stabilizing rents, & strengthening the surrounding community — a win for everyone.

Kids' mental health is now more protected online! 👏

Yesterday @governor.ca.gov signed AB 1043, a vital step towards ensuring kids have online experiences that are age-appropriate and free of harmful behaviors. Thank you Asm. @buffywicks.bsky.social for getting AB 1043 across the finish line! #CALeg

For too long, opening a restaurant in CA has meant endless hurdles & delays.

With @governor.ca.gov's signature on AB 671, we’re making it easier for small restaurateurs to turn their ideas into reality — opening doors faster, hiring sooner & bringing new energy to our main streets.

California’s leadership in quantum innovation starts right here in AD-14. Congratulations to @ucberkeleyofficial.bsky.social Professor John Clarke on receiving the 2025 Nobel Prize in Physics — a remarkable achievement that reflects the cutting-edge research happening in our own backyard.

This law is about dignity and fairness for the people who keep California moving.

With AB 1340, drivers finally have a meaningful seat at the table to stand together, bargain for better pay + protections, & help build a gig economy that works for the people behind the wheel.

Quantum will define the future — and w/AB 940, California is claiming its place at the forefront.

Thank you @governor.ca.gov for signing this bill to position CA to lead in quantum innovation, create good-paying jobs, and unlock immense economic value for our state.

I’m horrified by the assassination of Charlie Kirk. It’s a heartbreaking, terrible moment for all who believe in democracy, and the greatest loss imaginable for his family. Political violence like this must be condemned forcefully and unequivocally. My heart goes out to his family.

We can’t meet CA's clean energy goals without making it easier to build solar in the right places. My bill, AB 1156, gives water‑stressed farmers a voluntary path to do just that while keeping local control. I’m excited AB 130 got signed into law. But what I’m more looking forward to is its efficacy.

I’m done with bill signing ceremonies. I want groundbreakings and ribbon cuttings.

Because that’s the measure that matters: are we solving problems?
