NEWS --> Sen Ron Wyden writes to Pam Bondi, urging DOJ to probe $1.5 billion in Epstein financial transactions that banks flagged for Treasury Dept. He lays out roadmap for DOJ to examine money flow related to sex trafficking. Challenges Bondi in new way.

In the end, billionaire political donors want a return on their investment, and Trump and Republicans are giving it to them with trillions in new handouts. The rest of us will suffer for it. The United States will be a weaker, sicker and poorer country because of this bill.

Direct file has changed the game for taxpayers and I'll be fighting like hell to defend it from Republicans that want to drag us back to the days when we all had to shell out hundreds of dollars a year to predatory tax prep companies. Eligible Oregonians can file for free starting January 27.
I talked to @wyden.senate.gov - whos one of the biggest Direct File advocates - for a piece about this earlier this month. talkingpointsmemo.com/news/ron-wyd...

People want economic change. They’re not going to get it from Bessent and Trump.
Ranking Dem @wyden.senate.gov painted Bessent’s handling of his taxes as emblematic of a system with one set of rules for the rich and another for the working class. “This is exactly the kind of abusive scheme that leaves Americans feeling disgusted with the tax code,” he said.

Scott Bessent dodged a simple question from @wyden.senate.gov: Who pays for Trump’s blanket tariffs? The answer is clear—American workers and small businesses. No matter how Bessent tries to "gussy it up," these tariffs are just a tax hike on everyday Americans.
