Not enough of you liked this. I was sitting on the couch cracking myself up making it. Have we given up on frivolity as a people? Smh.

The Empress!! I was so worried when I started because like ... all the spindly eggs - but where we have a whip scorpion with her noodly babies.

I finally finished the first draft of the illustrated plate series for Widow Spiders of the World! This book is going to be so good, y'all. Expect its release in early 2026. 🕷️🕸️
A sneak peak of a illustrated plate from Widow Spiders of the World. The male and female of a species is shown, along with a close-up of the hourglass pattern at the bottom, juvenile color forms in an arc across the center, and an egg sac in the upper right. A range map in Dymaxion projection is tastefully superimposed onto the background. The male spider is gangly and brown, but his abdomen has bright black and white stripes with red spots. The female is a shiny black with bold red stripes. The egg sac is golden and spiky.

the new developments on inat inspired me to make a diagnostic thread for every insect order because there's only like 30something of them. going to try and avoid exceptions and extremely technical characteristics when possible. 🧵

There are Powder Blue Isopods (Porcellionides pruinosus) of various sizes on a pastel pink background.
All of them are hanging with large and small ribbons. Happy and lovely atmosphere.

🚨 Your Opinion Needed 🚨

We've had a number of people asking for a Bigger than Binaries shirt, so @franzanth.bsky.social & I discussed...

... and we will DO IT!

But we need your opinion! Which color should we print?! We can only do one.

Vote here! www.surveymonkey.com/r/5ZYWPHS
