I wrote about 3k tonight and am still not close to finishing my #OFMDBB25, so please like this post to get me motivated and enjoy this snippet that features something spicy and something sweet. 🐳❤️ #WIPWednesday

“It may look like it’s waving at us, but that’s known as pec slapping,” Stede informs the giggling crowd. “Southern rights have more rounded flippers than humpbacks, though they both love to pec slap. A whale may pec slap to communicate with other whales, or they’re simply playing around!”

As the crowd watches on, waiting for the southern right to appear again, Ed’s eyes trail down to Stede’s blue humpback shirt, his buttons still straining at his chest, and I’d like to slap those pecs–

“Get a grip!”

“What was that?”

Ed’s eyes fly up, and Stede is staring at him with his brows raised peculiarly.

“Nothing,” he spits out, but Stede’s brows remain raised, unconvinced. “Um,” Ed panics, and though Stede’s eyes are up there, he finds himself staring at his chest again. “I like that shirt.”

“Oh, this new thing?” Stede glances at his shirt and chuckles modestly. “I had a whole suit planned, but Olu’s partner said it was cursed. Probably because I told them they could only look at it.” Stede tuts under his breath and smirks, and Ed withholds a snigger at his bitchiness. “Long story, but I kept the shirt.”

Ed raises a brow. “That wasn’t a long story at all.”

“Well, I…” Stede stammers, blushing and looking away.

“But you wear that shirt well.”
