After due consideration, having weighed up the relevant evidence, assessed the balance of arguments and gamed the likely implications, I have reached the conclusion that Keir Starmer can fuck off from a great height.

They say there’s no money for housing, food or health. Yet war, surveillance and repression are endlessly funded. The system protects capital not people. The real war is against the poor. No war but the class war. It's time for us to wake up and fight against the system before they kill us ⚡🏴

Oh FGS. Anything that upsets corporate power and/or the far right is now deemed by the BBC to invoke "public controversy", and must therefore be nixed.
The BBC has done more to censor public debate than any other organisation in the UK.
And still it goes on.
Sad news about the Happy Heat Pump Podcast.

Sorry to say, that after about 20 episodes, we’re drawing it to a close at the request of the BBC which worries it may be seen as steering into areas of public controversy.

Germany teeters on a dangerous precipice, grappling with a social and political upheaval. Without collective action for social-ecological transformation, this essay argues that it may spiral into unchecked authoritarianism.

22 years ago today, the US and UK illegally invaded Iraq.

In doing so, they unleashed bloody chaos which so many are still paying the price for today.

As I wrote in 2016, the Iraq war was not a "blunder" or a "mistake".

It was a crime.

1. You feel powerless? Don’t know what you can do to resist the rise of fascism?
Here is an answer: Good Things.
Fascism inflicts pain and harm as a matter of doctrine.
Kindness, care and conviviality defend us from it.
The more we build community, the less it can take root.

Trump never had a peace plan for Ukraine. He had a plan for Ukraine's surrender, with a colonial resource grab. As Zelenskyy rightly refused it, or to cooperate in Trump's TV spectacular, the US has now cut Ukraine off.

Yes, the UK government SHOULD abandon its Carbon Capture and Storage scheme, which
a. would cause a net *increase* in emissions
b. is unlikely to work
c. uses tens of billions that'd be much better spent on genuinely green projects.
Let's hope it has seen sense.
